In this class, we will discuss the history of eugenics in the United States beginning in the first two decades of the 20th century, and its ramifications set in motion through legislation and a Supreme Court decision. Nazi Germany modeled their eugenics program on that of the United States, was in constant contact with “revered eugenicists” of the day and used this as an excuse during the Nuremberg trials.
