Description
(This is a discussion-based class with brief advance reading.)
With the musical “Hamilton,” Alexander Hamilton has skyrocketed to fame as America’s favorite founder in the 21st century. This session will explore myths and realities surrounding Hamilton, including the recent discovery that he likely owned enslaved servants. George Washington University Professor Denver Brunsman will lead a conversation about ideas expressed in an e-mailed prereading. The goal will be to get the group involved in asking questions and exploring issues.
Articles will be sent to registered participants a week in advance. NOTE: if you register less than 7 days before the class, please send an email to [email protected] to have the articles sent to you.
