Description

John McCarthy will discuss the development and changes in family law over the last hundred years, with a special focus on how grounds for divorce, child custody, domestic violence and child support alimony have evolved to today’s standards.  Maryland law will serve as the basis for this lecture as there is no unified national family law. There will also be a limited discussion of key Supreme Court cases. Mr. McCarthy taught family law for over 15 years in the paralegal studies program at Montgomery College.
