Foreign policy matters rarely determine US presidential elections, and the 2024 election was no exception. Yet Presidents often must spend significant time focused on major international challenges. This talk will assess Trump 2.0’s foreign policy actions so far, as well as past and possible major breaks from Biden’s foreign policy record and how Trump is likely to tackle the major challenges of our time, be it the war in Ukraine, competition with China, or instability in the Middle East.
