Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea in the Ring of Fire, Costa Rica has been shaped by plate tectonics and volcanic activity, resulting in complex biogeography and extravagant biodiversity that makes a naturalist feel like a kid in a candy store.
