Description

The public has heard more about NIH in the past two years than ever before, but its inner workings and broader scope are much less well known.  Our speaker will lead us through highlights of how the Institutes are structured; brief NIH history; recent research advances including the BRAIN initiative; and how the lay public can access useful NIH information about both health and disease.  Time permitting, the speaker will share the fascinating story of one of the many NIH-supported researchers who have been sole or shared recipients of the Nobel Prize.  (Add to bottom)
