Description

The Winter Olympics begin February 4.  The premiere event is figure skating, and this year’s competition promises to be thrilling. To help you understand and appreciate figure skating, we’ll study videotape of some top skaters competing in this Olympics. You’ll learn to distinguish between a triple axel, a double salchow, and a single toe loop. We’ll discuss the scoring system.  Finally, you’ll sit in a judge’s seat, watch videotape from the 2021 World Championships and score the competitors.  Then you’ll have a chance to see how your scores compare to the actual judges’ scores. At the completion of this class, you’ll say, “Let The Games begin!”
