It’s Shelby Van Pelt’s first novel, and she wrote the first pages when a writing workshop instructor told the class to tell a story from an unusual point of view. Our opening first-person narrator is Marcellus; therefore, early in the book you’ll find out what is so unusual. Again, talk about a splash!
