Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein were mortal business enemies yet were never in the same room together. They were both immigrants, had very humble beginnings and were innovators that helped shape the cosmetic industry as we know it today, a billion dollar conglomerate. There have been a number of books written about the two of them and even a Broadway musical, “War Paint”.
