Description

Historian Anthony Cohen leads this behind-the-scenes reveal of the farm, its history and environs. Discover how we create immersive experiences on forty acres of Maryland farmland and how we interpret the story of slavery and the Underground Railroad. Participants are responsible for their own transportation. Button Farm Living History Center is located at 16820 Black Rock Road, Germantown, MD 20874. Please arrive by 10:15 am. There is onsite parking; follow signs to the parking area. After the tour, you may stay as long as you like and are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the pavilion. A compost toilet is available. Wear walking shoes, you will be walking on uneven ground. Walkers and wheelchairs can be accommodated, with advance notice.  Raindate:  November 5, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm.
