Description
Born in Mexico, Dolores del Río arrived in Hollywood just when studios were searching for a “female Latin lover” to parallel Rudolph Valentino. She triumphed in this role, using her exoticness to attract an enormous public. However, in the 1930s, when war was looming in Europe, del Rio returned to Mexico to become one of the most important figures in the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. At the end of her life, she started the first system of daycare centers in Mexico for the children of working women.
