Recent reports of unidentified flying objects by military personnel have led to a resurgence of interest in UFOs. The phenomenon and the ways in which it’s being discussed are hardly new, however. In this talk, we’ll explore the twisted and tangled history of UFOs – from the first reports of “flying saucers” in the late-1940s through claims of alien abduction in the 1980s and 1990s to the national security concerns today.
