The Broadway musical has not always been kind to minorities, going back to Porgy and Bess, or to Annie Get Your Gun, the ways people of color have been portrayed is often not what we would accept today. Let’s examine how the perception of these characters has evolved over time with our resident Broadway expert Steve Friedman.
