Description
Who we are as individuals is a result of our ancestors and our environment. Ten generations back, we could have had as many as 1,024 ancestors, each of whom may have contributed something to our genetic code. Every human has 24,000 genes allocated over 23 chromosomes resulting in a wide variety of human traits. The effects of nature and nurture are determinants, but knowing our heredity can provide new ways to understand our individual selves, our families, ethnicities, nationhood, and humanity. This lecture is about genetic markers and genealogies.
