Professor Denver Brunsman, Chair of the History Department at George Washington University, will share an overview of his new book, “George Washington and His World: Enslaver, Revolutionary, President.” The book provides a fresh interpretation of Washington by considering the people and society that made the first president’s accomplishments possible. Washington filled multiple, often contradictory roles in the founding era. Rather than shy from this complexity, Brunsman aims to provide a full portrait of America’s indispensable founder. Copies of Dr. Brunsman’s book will be available for sale and signing after the class.
