Description
Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) is the most influential architect in Western architectural history. We will examine his reinvention of ancient Roman classicism in villas he created for his wealthy clients in the Veneto during the Italian Renaissance, his influence on Thomas Jefferson, and his enduring impact on architects and domestic architecture today, including the McMansion phenomenon.
His influence spans the Italian Renaissance clients, through Thomas Jefferson, to today’s McMansions.
