Free speech is one of the most important, and controversial, issues of our times. No Supreme Court in the past half-century has played a more significant role in this area than the Roberts Court. And more than any other Supreme Court jurist in recent history, Chief Justice John Roberts has assumed a defining role in shaping the contours of modern free‐speech law.
