Description
Karen Horney, one of the first few women disciples of Freud and one of the pioneers of Psychoanalysis, was a rebel. Her views on women and her views on the importance of cultural factors prompted other analysts to reject her theories and expel her from the official circles of Psychoanalysis. But later developments in Psychoanalysis vindicated her perspectives. Her views continue to be influential today. In this presentation, we will discuss her life, ideas, and most important writings and contributions to psychology and feminist thought.
