We’ll look at opera from its beginnings in the Renaissance up to its current day expression. We’ll briefly cover opera’s origins and then we’ll focus on how the genre is flourishing and evolving in the 21st century. To gain a broad picture of the many styles, techniques, and topics audiences may encounter, we’ll cover a range of contemporary operas.
