We'll examine the early years of the architecture profession in the United States, during the second half of the 19th century. Until well into the 20th century, relatively few women struggled to overcome the opposition, stereotypes, and technical obstacles to enter the field and even fewer succeeded. Lecturer Bill Keene looks at the careers of three pioneering women practitioners who succeeded, making significant contributions to the built environment, and providing examples for others to follow.
