Stephen Sondheim had not done well artistically in the 1960’s. Of the three musicals he wrote, only one was a success. Suddenly his friendship with Hal Prince crested with what are now considered the great masterpieces of the American Musical theater: Company, Follies and Sweeney Todd are among the great works that we’ll share.
