Description
The Brandywine River Museum of Art in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania was founded in 1971 to expand appreciation of the Brandywine Tradition in American art. The museum, in a converted grist mill along Brandywine Creek, is not far from the Revolutionary War Brandywine battlefield. The museum’s collection centers on American illustration and the artwork of the Wyeth family including work by N.C., Andrew, Carolyn and Jamie Wyeth. (For a related class, see class #451.)
