Description

Everyone has heard of the Crusades, but few people know what really happened during those 300 years. This two-part class looks at the tactics, ideology, and political relationships that defined how these campaigns were fought. Not only will we look at the “standard” history – as seen from the Crusaders’ viewpoints, but we’ll also look at what Arab writers had to say. The complex relationship between friend and foe is a significant one, because it thrust Europe into a new age of thinking and eventually led to the Renaissance.
