Description
New Deal projects transformed Washington’s art and architecture in the 1930s and 40s, with long-lasting impact to the look and feel of the capital, the federal core, and the National Mall. In this talk, we’ll examine the role and purpose of the federal government in subsidizing new buildings, including the Federal Triangle complex, expansive public parks, and socially conscious public murals and sculpture.
