Description
Several mental and social processes that underlie racism will be examined. These include: essentialist reasoning, abstracting, de facto segregation, uneven media treatment, implicit bias and the biased use of power. Particular attention will be given to the brain mechanisms that are believed to be involved in the expression of racist language and racist behavior.
