Description

In the fall of 2021, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office undertook a research project to analyze data on criminal prosecution in Montgomery County in order to ensure the fair administration of justice.   Another objective of the project is to implement a framework for sustainable community engagement in order to build community trust in the criminal justice system.   The current status of the project will be discussed, and any results will be examined and explained. The presentation will also go over how to promote equity in Criminal Justice.  For example, the State’s Attorney’s Office has a number of diversion programs in effect that seek to reform certain offenders rather than punish them.
