Description
In response to our end of school year survey you asked for more training on phonics instruction, and we are delivering! Over the last few years, the US public school system has seen the reemergence of phonics-focused reading instruction based on data indicating this approach is a necessary foundational skill for learning to read. This Tutor Development session will provide participants with a peek into what is happening with phonics instruction in the classroom, basic phonics terms will be explained and time for exploration of phonics-focused books, games and activities available in our resource room will be provided. This session is best for tutors who have students in grades K, 1, 2, and 3 but of course, all tutors are welcome to come.
This session is for current or on-break Oasis Tutors and is only offered in-person due to the interactive nature. Registration is required.
