Description
This class will focus on the revolutionary effect that DNA evidence has had on criminal prosecutions. Since some of the first cases using DNA evidence originated in Montgomery County, special emphasis will be given to these cases. We will explore how DNA evidence has been used to both convict and exonerate individuals suspected of criminal offenses. Special focus will be on genealogical use of DNA obtained from private providers to help solve cold case rapes and murders like the Golder State Killer.
