    Commander Amy Daum of the Montgomery County Police Department’s 2nd District will provide an overview of current policing priorities in the county, including recent successes, ongoing challenges, and emerging crime patterns. The session will offer practical guidance for older-adult residents on how to protect themselves from crime, recognize and report suspicious activity, and understand when to use 911 versus the non-emergency line. Attendees will also learn how to look up crime data in their neighborhoods and explore resources available through MCPD, including the possibility of a home security assessment. A Q&A will follow to address community questions and concerns. This program is generously supported by the Frederick H. Bowis Community Fund.

    Montgomery County's Commission on Aging has a new program to help residents learn about the wide array of programs and services the County offers, ranging from: recreational; lifelong learning; volunteer and career opportunities; computers/technology; life transitions as we age; staying safe; and services that include caregiver support, inhome care, mental health services, food, transportation, and housing. Presenters will invite your input and ideas about your interests and concerns. Handouts will be available online and for those present to take home.
