Description
This beginner walk will introduce you to the joys of bird-watching. You’ll see birds typical of Maryland in late September, likely some lingering migrants before they head south, as well as many many permanent resident species, and probably some raptors and waterfowl. Bring binoculars and wear good walking shoes; we will cover over one mile at a slow pace. Best binoculars are 7 to 10 power with 32 to 42 millimeter objective lens.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation, and will meet at the parking lot of Lois Y. Green Conservation Park at 8:00 AM. (The park address is 8711 Snouffer School Road, Gaithersburg, MD for GPS purposes.) The walk will proceed even if there is light rain. If there is heavy rain, the walk will be held on October 1. Limit: 14
