Description

Washington Post and ESPN sports journalist George Solomon takes a look at Washington’s sports history.  We’ll start with baseball, from the Senators winning the World Series in 1924 through two departures from Washington, returning as the Nationals in 2005 and winning the World Series in 2019.  Then we’ll take a pass at the Redskins, now called the Commanders, currently in a tough stretch under the ownership of Daniel Snyder, who has put the team up for sale.  We’ll touch on the frustrations of the Wizards and Capitals, balanced with high points from D.C. United soccer, University of Maryland and Georgetown basketball.
