Description

The 1600’s were a time of great turmoil in Europe including the change to an agriculture-based economy, internal revolutions and the Thirty Years War, all of which ultimately lead to an age of great intellectual and cultural development. We’ll examine the political and religious factors that remade the map of Europe, with an emphasis on some of the remarkable characters who populated that era – Cardinal Richelieu, Gustavus Adolphus and the enigmatic Count von Wallenstein.  (For related classes, see #332 and #341)
