Description

(Due to circumstances related to the Catherine Hoggle case, Mr. McCarthy will not be able to address the topic at this time.  Therefore he will present a class on the Lyon Sisters case.) Forty-two years after the Lyon sisters were reported missing, former carnival worker Lloyd Welch pleaded guilty to two counts of felony first-degree murder. He was sentenced to 48 years in prison as part of a global plea agreement. Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy will provide insight into the cold-case detectives’ break that led prosecutors to the ultimate conviction after so many years of painful uncertainty.
