Former Ambassador Zumwalt will discuss this critical partnership for advancing U.S. interests in the Indo-Pacific Region. It has several facets: the US-Japan Security partnership, our diplomatic partnership which takes advantage of Japanese "soft power" in Asia, and our economic relationship. During his 36-year Foreign Service career, Ambassador Zumwalt served in a variety of assignments with a focus on Asia and international economics in Washington, Tokyo, Beijing, Kinshasa, Dakar and Bissau.
