This course is for students who wish to have basic conversations about everyday topics in Spanish, either to communicate with friends, family or neighbors, or for traveling to Spanish-speaking countries. Themes include family, careers, food and shopping, as well as an introduction to culture and interesting places in the Spanish-speaking world.   At the novice level, students are encouraged to use Spanish as much as possible in the classroom.  If you would like to join this class but did not take Beginning Spanish 1 in the Fall 2025 term, please contact Oasis for an evaluation for the class.  (We use the workbook, Nos Vemos Hoy 1 for this class.  If you are new to the class, please contact Oasis for ordering instructions.)

What's more fun than knitting solo? Joining a club where every week is a knitting party! Our Social Knitwork group is a great way to share your love of knitting. The skills required to join are casting on, knitting, purling and binding off. Fellow knitters will help you tackle confusing patterns, explain new-to-you techniques, and share favorite projects and patterns. Bring your current project(s) or the materials to start a new one. Whether you knit for yourself, your family and friends or a charity, joining a knitting group is a commitment to your craft, a way of making a time and place for a healthy, stress-reducing hobby.  No meeting November 26.  

The group is an opportunity to improve speaking confidence and meet other adults who wish to refresh their French speaking skills. We recommend that you be on at least an intermediate French speaking level. If you can speak on the telephone without too much difficulty, your French speaking ability is likely at an intermediate level. The conversation group is not a French class.
